General comments

Infectie meestal alleen bij ernstig immuungecompromitteerde patiënten.

Behandeling van voorkeur is het zo goed mogelijk herstellen van de afweer.

Fumagilline:

  • I.v.m. beenmergtoxiciteit (neutropenie, thrombocytopenie) alleen te gebruiken bij dwingende klinische noodzaak, bijv. blijvende immuunsuppressie met heftige diarree.
  • Geproduceerd door de schimmel Aspergillus fumigatus, is in Nederland niet beschikbaar.

Albendazol:

  • Waarschijnlijk veilig tijdens zwangerschap (2e en 3e trimester) en borstvoeding
  • Innemen met vetrijke maaltijd (verhoogd de resorptie)
