Antibiotica in principe niet geïndiceerd.
Eventueel gestarte antibiotica aanpassen op geleide van kweken.
Indien de verwekker nog niet bekend is, starten met amoxicilline-clavulaanzuur. Indien bewezen gevoeligheid voor amoxicilline, switch naar amoxicilline.
