General comments
Invasieve Haemophilus influenzae type b infecties zijn meldingsplichtige ziekten, groep C
Meest voorkomende verwekkers zijn H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae en M. catarrhalis.
Behalve een keelkweek dienen ook bloedkweken te worden afgenomen. Met name bij de keelkweek is het belangrijk te vermelden dat het om epiglottitis gaat.
