General comments
Bij pO2 < 70 mm Hg of 8-9 kPa toevoegen prednison:
dag 1-5 2 dd 40 mg;
dag 6-10 2 dd 20 mg;
dag 11-14 1 dd 20 mg
Na behandeling secundaire profylaxe, zie profylaxe HIV-infectie
In overleg met de internist-infectioloog kan kortere behandeling, minimaal 2 weken, gegeven worden. Indien er niet met cotrimoxazol behandeld wordt dient de behandelduur altijd 3 weken te zijn.
Andere naamgeving ook wel gebruikt om infectie aan te duiden: PJP en PCP
